This ChatGPT-powered AI app can generate the perfect text message - HT Tech

We have all been in that situation where we have to draft a message either wishing someone or conveying important information and we struggle with what could be the best way of saying it. Then comes typing and a lot of deleting over and over till we finally manage to muster up something decent half an hour later. But those were the struggles of 2022. In 2023, we have artificial intelligence! And now, using the same generative AI technology, there is an app called FireTexts that claims it can generate the perfect text message for all occasions for you. Let us take a closer look.

The FireTexts app has been built by AltGrowth and this is their only app so far. According to their official website, the app uses GPT-4 technology, which also powers ChatGPT, to give the app its generative capabilities. As a result, you just have to give it a small prompt on the topic you want it to write a message on and it will duly deliver.

How the FireTexts app works

The app is about 10 MB in size, so it will not occupy a lot of space on your phone. It is available on both Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The app is free to download but there is a premium version of the app that can be subscribed to as well. First, we will go over the free features, and then we will explain the subscription pricing and the premium features.

In the free version, you can select from five different options including Birthday, Thank You, Love, Missing You, and Casual Chat. You also get an option for custom topics, but that has been included in the premium subscription.

Once you have selected the topic, you have to pick the tone of the message between Funny and Casual. You get four more tones in the premium version. After selecting the tone, you have to add the context. This is where you can add the details of the message and give the context to the AI. Once done, AI will generate a text message that you can copy and paste to your preferred messaging platform.

FireTexts premium subscription

The app also has monthly and yearly premium subscription plans. The monthly subscription charges Rs. 390 while the yearly plan comes at Rs. 2400. Both subscriptions give you unlimited crafted and saved texts, access to all premium features, and customizable occasions and emotions. You can also cancel it at any time you want to stop the subscription.

Android users alert: This WhatsApp link can crash the app immediately, do not click on it - India Today

By Divya Bhati: WhatsApp is one of the most popular instant messaging platforms across the globe. The Meta-owned app offers a variety of interesting features and privacy options to enhance and protect user experience. WhatsApp also receives regular app updates to improve the user interface, add features, improve security, and fix bugs. However, even with all of its smooth and enhanced user experience and end-to-end encryption, WhatsApp is not immune to temporary setbacks, such as a recent bug that has reportedly been crashing its Android app on devices.

advertisement

According to a report from the Android Authority, it is currently facing a bug that is causing its Android app to crash. The bug is triggered when users open an individual or group chat containing a specific link, wa.me/settings. Normally, this link should open the settings page of the WhatsApp app, but currently, it is causing crashes on Android devices.

The bug appears to affect both individual and group chats, including those on WhatsApp Business. The report states that opening a chat with the problematic link causes the crash, but the app restarts normally afterward, unless you revisit that specific message thread.

The bug is reported to affect the 2.23.10.77 version of WhatsApp for Android, although it is possible that other versions are also affected.

Notably, the WhatsApp bug was first reported by a Twitter user with the handle @BruteBee, who revealed that it affects the WhatsApp Business version 2.23.10.77. The user further confirmed that the bug causes the app to crash when attempting to share the URL on WhatsApp status.

How to fix the WhatsApp bug

If you are also facing a similar issue, there is a simple fix. WhatsApp Web, the browser version of WhatsApp, is apparently not affected by this bug. Therefore, you can log in to the WhatsApp Web through your browser and delete the message or chat that triggered the crash. After that, your WhatsApp on your phone will not crash unless you receive the same problematic link again.

As an update to the bug report, a recent tweet from @BruteBee reveals that WhatsApp has fixed the bug. The tweet states, "It appears @WhatsApp has fixed the bug! Thanks everyone for spreading this tweet! At least for wa[.]me/settings, the party is over."

We even checked if the bug was still causing the crash, but the link was fine and did not crash the WhatsApp app. However, if you are still facing the issue, you should update your app from the Google Play Store.
