While only a small number of people will be able to physically attend the event, the rest can watch the live stream of Build 2023 on YouTube. Microsoft Build 2023 will commence today at 9:13 PM IST, during which the company will share news and updates about its products and services. Similar to Google, Microsoft's emphasis is anticipated to be on AI.

Registration Process

To attend the event in person, individuals must register online and pay a significant fee of $1,525. For those interested in participating in the workshops, a separate registration process is required, along with a fee of $225.

Microsoft Build 2023: Expectations

According to rumours, Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, and 19 other speakers, including Greg Brockman, President and Co-Founder of OpenAI, are expected to make AI, Windows 11, and Bing announcements. The event will showcase the most recent breakthroughs in coding and app development, with the possibility of unveiling Visual Studio, which may have AI capabilities.

Meanwhile, Google has raised the bar by introducing an updated version of Bard AI, which is based on the PaLM 2 large language model and is capable of performing more complex tasks. Furthermore, Google has recently announced a range of new AI-powered features across its services, including Maps, Gmail, and Photos.

WhatsApp now lets you edit messages with a 15-minute time limit - TechCrunch

WhatsApp has finally announced one of the most anticipated features today — message editing.

Mark Zuckerberg noted in a Facebook post that users can now modify a message within 15 minutes of sending the message. If you want to do so, you can press and hold on a message, and tap on the edit option to alter the message. The edited messages will have an “edited” tag next to the time stamp to mark the change. However, the app won’t maintain any correction history. Other users won’t be able to see the previous versions of edited messages.

“We’re excited that you’ll now have more control over your chats, such as correcting misspellings or adding more context to a message. For this, within 15 minutes of sending the message, you have to tap and hold that message for a while and then select the option of ‘Edit’ from the menu,” the company said in a blog post.

Until now, users had to either delete a message altogether or send a correction in a separate message. Last year, the chat app increased the time limit to delete a message from two days (48 hours) to 60 hours.

WhatsApp’s competitors like Telegram and Signal have long offered the ability to edit messages. With iOS 16, Apple also introduced the ability to edit and unsend messages sent via iMessage. Even Twitter introduced the edit button for paid users last year. While the time limit to modify a message is not as generous as Telegram’s 48-hour window, it is still better than nothing.

I have had a fair share of typos in messages, but the editing feature will let me quickly correct mistakes instead of sending another message. Sending corrections can confuse the recipient. It also creates unnecessary notifications. When you delete a message, it doesn’t completely disappear from the conversation, which can also be confusing. Instead, it is replaced with a greyed out note that says “This message was deleted.”

Meta said that the feature is already rolling out to users and will be available to everyone in a few weeks.

As per Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the MacBook Air 15-inch laptop will feature a chipset that is comparable to the M2 chip in the 13-inch model. Apart from the boost in the display size, there are no other external design changes expected so far. That means it will be like a larger version of the 13-inch MacBook Air with a camera notch, thin bezels, and a flat design.

It is also expected to come with 8GB of memory, which is consistent with the existing MacBook Air.

As per Tom's Guide report, it is expected that the 15-inch laptop will be priced in the range of $1299 to $1499.

These apps are categorised as 'fleeceware' that aims to push the user to buy a paid subscription, as the free version is stuffed with ads to the brim, as per Sophos News. Further, these apps intend to make a paid replica of a free service.

One of the apps discovered by the cybersecurity company on Google Play Store was - Chat GBT. It uses an alphabet alteration in the name to lure users to download the app.

As per the report, the free version has rich advertisements that hamper the user experience. This forces the user to opt for a subscription plan. The default pick is a three-day trial followed by a $10 fee for a month. Further, the annual rate is $30.

On iPhone, an app named -GAI Assistant works similarly to its Android counterpart. The plan for the service starts from $6 per week. Going by estimates of Sensor Tower, the Android version minted $5,000 in March and iOS variant generated $10,000 in the same month in revenue.

Another app, 'AI Chat GBT' prompts a user to perform similar functions as the above-stated apps. On iOS, AI Chat - Chatbot AI Assistant, Genie AI Chatbot and AI Chatbot - Open Chat Writer.

How To Cancel Subscription?

If you have downloaded one of these apps and purchased a subscription, uninstalling these apps won't solve the problem. Here's how you can abort your bank deductions.

On iPhone

Head to settings, then tap on your name. Tap on Subscriptions, select the app subscription you wish to cancel and hit 'Cancel Subscription.'

On Android

Head to the subscriptions section in Google Play and select the desired subscription you wish to cancel. Hit - Cancel Subscription.
