Apple released a slew of products, including the 13-inch MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, and Mac mini in November last year. If that wasn't enough, the Cupertino giant introduced the M1 iMac and Mi iPad Pro in 2021. Now that Apple has refreshed its Mac lineup thoroughly, we presumed that the brand will not release any products in a couple of years from now.
But we may be very wrong with our predictions as a fresh report suggests that Apple is preparing to release several new Mac laptops and desktops. These Mac's are expected to feature faster processors, newer designs and improved connectivity to external devices.
The report further says that the upgrade is coming to a range of Mac products. This encompasses the MacBook Pro, the MacBook Air and its desktop lineup the Mac Pro, iMac and Mac mini. We have heard that these Macs are coming in a few months.
Now that the launch of the upcoming Macs is on the cards, we decided to detail everything we know so far about the MacBook Pro 2021, Mac Pro 2021, new MacBook Air and the new Mac Mini.

--This new report from Bloomberg says that Apple is working on 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro's codenamed J314 and J316, respectively. These laptops are said to have a redesigned chassis, magnetic MagSafe charger and more ports for connecting external devices. In addition to that, Apple is also supposed to bring back the HDMI port and SD card slot.
--The in-house M1 chip has done wonders for the current MacBook lineup. M1 powered Macs are extremely powerful, eat less power, run mobile apps. While the complete potential of the M1 chip is still to be harnessed, Apple has already begun working on a more powerful chipset for the upcoming Macs.
--Through the same report, we know that Apple is planning two different chips for the MacBook Pros. These chipsets are codenamed Jade C-Chop and Jade C-Die, both of which include eight high-performance cores and two energy-efficient cores. Not to miss, these chipsets will be offered in either 16 or 32 graphics core variations. In comparison, the current M1 chipset has four high-performance cores, four energy-efficient cores and eight graphics cores.
--Apart from this, these upcoming chipsets can include up to 64GB of RAM, while the M1 Macs could get a maximum of 16GB. They'll also bring an improved neural engine that will be capable of processing complex machine-learning tasks.
--That's not it, Apple is also working on a new version of Mac Mini, codenamed J374. It will reportedly feature the same chipset as the upcoming MacBook Pro. The number of ports will be increased to four in this version of Mac Mini to differentiate it from the current M1 Mac. The upcoming version will completely replace the intel based Mac Mini sold now.
--The Mac Pro is also expected to see a refresh. We have learnt that the upcoming Mac Pro is codenamed Jade 2C-Die and Jade 4C-Die. This new Mac Pro is hinted to come in 20 core or 40 core variations, made up of 16 high-performance or 32 high-performance cores and four or eight high-efficiency cores. In addition to that, it may get up to 64 or 128 cores for graphics.
--As far as the design of the upcoming Mac Pro is concerned, It will be a smaller version of the current design. Apple has also been working on bigger iMacs with new processors that will launch sometime later.
--Now, coming to the star of last year's show, the MacBook Air with an M1. This laptop is expected to get a refreshed design with a completely new range of colours like the newly launched iMac. Jon Prosser showcased a couple of renders of the upcoming MacBook Air. The upcoming Macbook Air is supposed to be lighter and slimmer than its previous iterations. Leaks suggest that the weight may be reduced to 2.6 pounds from 2.8 pounds.
--The laptop will be powered by a successor to the M1 processor, possibly named M2. This chipset is codenamed Staten and will include the same no of computing cores as M1. However, the graphical cores may increase from eight to nine or ten.
--Also, to gain complete independence from Intel, Apple is preparing to remove the last intel component on M1 Macs called USB Retimer, which helps power the USB-C and Thunderbolt ports on its computers.

The MacBook Pros will debut in the coming months, followed by a revamped MacBook Air, a new low-end MacBook Pro and an all-new Mac Pro workstation. Apart from this, Apple is also working on a higher-end Mac mini desktop and larger iMac, which may come out in 2022. We can expect new Mac models to be available in India by later this year.
