POCO India is gaming up for the launch of a new smartphone in India. The company’s senior executive Anuj Sharma has teased the launch of a new F-series smartphone. A 30-second long teaser video uploaded by Sharma confirms the arrival of the F3 GT in India. The teaser video also confirms that the device will come with a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC under the hood. The phone is rumoured as a rebadged Redmi K40 Gaming Edition. It comes with dedicated gaming triggers and up to 12GB of RAM. Let’s take a look at the POCO F3 GT expected price, specifications, and other details.

POCO F3 GT India launch teased

POCO is gearing up to launch the PCOO F3 GT in India. The device is rumoured to launch as a rebranded Redmi K40 Gaming Edition.

The company’s top executive Anuj Sharma has confirmed the F3 GT launch in India. He uploaded a 30-second video confirming the moniker and the processor details. The F3 GT will feature a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC. This further confirms a previous report that suggested it as a rebranded Redmi K40 Gaming Edition.

The smartphone will launch in Q3 2021, which starts in July. This means that we are more than a month away from the smartphone’s launch in India. We can expect the device to pack the same specs as the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition.

POCO F3 GT expected price in India, specifications

Xiaomi had launched the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition in China at a starting price of CNY 1,999 (roughly Rs 23,000). The device’s top variant with 12GB + 256GB variant is priced at CNY 2,699 (roughly Rs 31,050). We can expect the F3 GT’s price in India to start at around Rs 25,000 for the base variant with 6GB + 128GB storage.

The device sports a 6.67-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate support and a 480Hz touch sampling rate. It has an HDR10+, certification, DCI-P3 colour gamut, etc. 

Under the hood, the phone draws power from a 6nm MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC. The gaming phone features vapour cooling tech for better thermal management. It also has buttons on the right edge that work as triggers. The phone comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. 

It packs a 5065 mAh battery with 67W wired fast charging support.

On the back is a triple-camera setup. It has a 64MP f/1.65 primary camera sensor, an 8MP, 120-degree ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro camera. For selfies, there is a 16MP front camera inside the hole-punch camera cutout. There is a pulsating ambient light around the camera module. It can switch between different colours and also doubles up as a notification LED.

The phone runs Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 out of the box. The gaming phone comes with an IP53 rating to offer splash resistance. The phone is 8.3mm thick and weighs 205 grams.
