Realme Quicksilver with Snapdragon 778G 5G chipset to launch soon - 91mobiles

Realme “Quicksilver” will be one of the first smartphones to debut with the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G chipset, the company announced on Wednesday. The announcement comes soon after Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 778G mobile processor, which is set to appear in premium mid-range smartphones from brands like Realme, Xiaomi, Motorola, OPPO, and iQOO, among others. Realme will be one of the first brands to launch a phone with this new chipset. The company is calling it the Realme “Quicksilver”, which is just a codename. The actual name and launch date remain a mystery for now. You can expect the first batch of Snapdragon 778G 5G phones later this year.

Realme has not gone into detail regarding the Realme Quicksilver specifications apart from the fact that it will be powered by the new Snapdragon 778G 5G chipset. The chipset is based on a 6nm process with the Qualcomm Kryo 670 CPU. The processor offers 40 percent performance improvement, 40 percent GPU improvement, and improved energy efficiency compared to the previous generation chipset. The upcoming Realme phone will come with a GT mode and a new cooling system. This also suggests that the smartphone could be part of the Realme GT series.

“This is a milestone both for Realme and our users. Realme is working towards being a democratiser of next-gen 5G technology unlocking the potential of 5G to deliver exciting new experiences for consumers globally. Realme has worked closely with Qualcomm on a variety of successful products, earlier this year, Realme GT was one of the first devices equipped with SDM888 and we are again proud to be among the first brands to bring smartphones equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778 5G chipset. The chipset will improve the performance of smartphones and will provide advanced gaming capabilities,” said Madhav Sheth, CEO of Realme India and Europe.
