WWDC 2021 kicks off on June 7. Apple will announce the next iteration of its software for the iPhone at the Apple Event. The company is also expected to announce some of the best iOS 15 features at its developer event. These features will roll out via an OTA update later this year. Before WWDC 2021 live-stream begins, here is a rumoured list of iPhones getting iOS 15 in September.
Apple iPhone 13 series: The upcoming iPhone models launching later this year are likely to ship with iOS 15 out of the box. These iPhone models include the Apple iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max.
Apple iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max: The two Pro iPhone models are Apple's flagship offerings before the next-generation iPhone 13 series is unveiled. Both these iPhone 12 models will get the iOS 15 update later this year.
Apple iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini: Both iPhone models were announced alongside the Apple iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max at the event last year. The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini will get the iOS update later this year once rolled out via an OTA update.
Apple iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max: Apple's flagship for 2019 will get the iOS 15 update once released in September.
Apple iPhone 11: The vanilla iPhone 11, which is still among the best-selling iPhone models worldwide, will get the iOS 15 software update once it is released in September 2021.
Apple iPhone SE (2020): The affordable iPhone launched last year will get the iOS 15 software update once released in September 2021.
Apple iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max: Both 2018 Apple flagship iPhones will get the iOS 15 software update later this year.
Apple iPhone XR: The affordable iPhone of 2018, which was the best-selling smartphone for six quarters after its launch, will get the iOS 15 software update in September 2021.
Apple iPhone X: The first iPhone to ditch the home button and offer an almost all-screen design will be eligible to receive the iOS 15 update once rolled out.
Apple iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus: The two iPhones were launched alongside the iPhone X in 2017 and are likely to get the iOS 15 update, even four years after the launch.
Apple iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus: Apple's flagship iPhone models of 2016 are likely to get the iOS 15 update later this year.
Apple iPhone 6s and iPhone 6S launched in 2015 are likely to miss out on getting the new iOS 15 updates. The same is the case with the original iPhone SE.
