Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 With LTE Support Gets FCC Certification, Launch Imminent - MySmartPrice

Samsung is rumoured to launch new smartwatches later this year. According to reports, the South Korean tech giant will launch the Galaxy Watch 4 in Q2 2021. Samsung is also expected to launch the Galaxy Watch Active 4 as a successor to the Active 2. The upcoming Samsung smartwatches are expected to run Android instead of Samsung’s custom Tizen OS. The company is yet to make an official announcement on the launch date of its new smartwatch. Ahead of the launch, the Galaxy Watch 4 has visited the FCC website. The listing hints at an imminent launch of the Galaxy Watch. Let’s take a look at the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 specifications and features revealed via the FCC listing.

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 FCC

Samsung is gearing up for the Galaxy Watch 4 launch. Ahead of the launch, the upcoming smartwatch has visited the FCC website. The FCC listing of the Galaxy Watch 4 reveals the various LTE bands it would support. The device listed on the website has the model number SM-885U. It will support Bluetooth, NFC, Wi-Fi 2.4GHz/ 5GHz and various LTE Bands, which can be seen in the image below. The listing also reveals the battery model number (EB-BR880ABY) of the device. Additionally, the information provided by the manufacturer also mentions a wireless charger (EP-OR825). This means that the Watch could support 5W wireless charging. The FCC listing also reveals the various accessories used for testing. It is possible that the watch might support these accessories.

Samsung has not yet announced the launch date of its upcoming smartwatch. Recently, Jon Prosser from Front Page Tech claimed that the new Galaxy smartwatch will go on sale in select markets starting August 11. He did not reveal the expected unveiling date of the new smartwatches. Reports in the past claimed that the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch Active 4 will launch in Q2 2021.

Another report had revealed that the two Samsung smartwatches will launch in two screen sizes. The Watch 4 will have a screen size of 42mm and 46mm. Samsung’s Active smartwatch will launch in 40mm and 42mm screen sizes. 

Tipster Ice Universe had previously claimed that the two smartwatches will run on Android instead of Tizen. As per a recent Safety Korea listing, the Watch 4 with a 42mm screen will have a 240 mAh battery. The smartwatches are also rumoured to ditch non-invasive blood sugar measuring sensors.  This is all the information we have on the two Samsung smartwatches.
