Samsung recently launched a new budget smartphone in India in its Galaxy A series. The Samsung Galaxy A22 arrives with an AMOLED display, a quad-camera setup, a big battery, and an octa-core chipset.

The Samsung Galaxy A22 is priced at Rs 18,499 in India for the sole 6GB/128GB model. The phone comes in black and mint colours. The phone will be available through Samsung India’s website as well as other major online retail channels.

The Galaxy A22 is powered by an unnamed octa-core processor with a 2.0GHz clock speed, presumably the MediaTek Helio G80 SoC. The chipset is paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage that is expandable via a microSD card (Up to 1TB). The phone runs on Android 11 with One UI 3.1 on top.
The A22 sports a 6.4-inch HD+ Super AMOLED panel with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a 90Hz refresh rate. The screen’s waterdrop notch houses a 13 MP, f/2.2 selfie camera.
On the back, the Galaxy A22 has gone for a quad-camera setup with a 48 MP, f/1.8 primary sensor. The other three camera sensors are an 8 MP ultrawide shooter, a 2 MP depth sensor, and a 2 MP macro unit. Samsung also offers optical image stabilisation on the main 48 MP camera.
The Galaxy A22 packs a 5,000 mAh battery with 15W fast-charging support. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, a USB Type-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and more.
