Fortnite v17.30 update is live now; from Grab-itron, bug fixes to Pulse Rifle, here’s what’s changed - HT Tech

Epic Games has released Season 7 of the famed battle royale game Fortnite and it brings a host of new elements. The game was down earlier in the day today, but now the company, via a tweet, has confirmed that it is out for the players to download and play. “Downtime for v17.30 has ended. Here’s what’s new,” Fortnite Status wrote in a tweet. Fortnite Season 7 is available as a part of v17.30 update of the game.

Earlier, Fortnite via its official Twitter handle had said that the upcoming update will feature UFOs. Now the company has shared a long list of changes that the v17.30 update of the game brings. The game is getting Grab-itron. Epic Games said that Grab-itron isn’t only for offense. If a player has an object pulled in, that object will block damage coming from the front and keep ding so until it can endure it no longer. Additionally, the company said players can use Grab-itron to catch incoming explosives and propel them back. They can be found in Chests, on top of Abductors, and inside the Mothership.

The company has also introduced a new LTM in the form of Team Brawl. “In the new Team Brawl Limited Time Mode, compete with your team to reach 60 eliminations before the other team. If you get eliminated, you’ll respawn by plummeting to the ground instead of skydiving, ensuring you get back to the brawl right away...You’ll be given a new loadout at the start and each time you respawn. Matches take place at a single POI, and the POI’s non-player buildings are extra strong for better protection,” Fortnite wrote in a blog post.

In addition to that, v17.30 also brings some subtle changes to other features. The company said that the Pulse Rifle now does more damage when aiming down sights. Additionally, the Heavy Assault Rifle now can cause higher amounts of damage, though it has a slightly reduced fire rate, but for the first few shots, has a higher accuracy than before.

As far as bug fixes are concerned, Epic Games has fixed an issue with Fortnite's "3D Headphones" option on PlayStation 5 in which stereo sounds wouldn't spatialize, resulting in the stereo sounds being 2D. In order for the "3D Headphones" option in Fortnite to take effect, 3D audio must be enabled in your PlayStation 5's system settings. To do that, follow this path: Settings > Sound > Audio Output > Enable 3D Audio. The company has also fixed an issue involving vehicle radios not playing at times when trying to turn them on. It has also fixed an issue involving vehicles driving erratically, caused by the player in control being in a Prop state. “Vehicles can no longer be interacted with if the player is in a Prop state,” Epic Games added.
