Xiaomi is all set to launch its much-anticipated Mi Pad 5 series on August 10. The Chinese smartphone maker has confirmed the launch of the Mi Pad 5 series on the microblogging site Weibo. Although Xiaomi did not reveal how many models will be launched under the Mi Pad 5 series, several certification websites and leaks have suggested that Xiaomi might launch three models under the Mi Pad 5 series.
The design of the Mi Pad 5 series has been shared by many tipsters and websites but none revealed whether the tablet would come with a stylus or not. The launch poster that has been released by Xiaomi shows a stylus with the tablet. It is however not confirmed whether Xiaomi will sell the stylus separately or include it with the tablet. As far as the design is concerned, the leaks reveal that the tablet will have rounded edges, a sleek metal frame and rounded edges. On the rear, a large camera sensor along with an LED flashlight can also be seen. This was all about the design, let us have a look at the specifications of the Mi Pad 5 in detail.
Mi Pad 5 series: Expected specifications
As mentioned previously, Xiaomi may launch three models under the Mi Pad 5 series and the leaks reveal that two of them may be powered by the Snapdragon 870 SoC. The third one could have a Snapdragon 860 chipset, as revealed by noted tipster Mukul Sharma. All the tablets are expected to come with the same screen size. It is expected to feature 10.9 inch LCDs with support for a 120Hz high refresh rate. In terms of the camera, the tablet may come with a 12-megapixel primary camera. The tipster further revealed that the tablets will come with support for 5G.
Xiaomi could name the tablets Xiaomi Mi Pad 5, Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Pro and Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 lite. A leak by Digital Chat Station also showed a case that can also serve the purpose of a keyboard. The render however revealed that the keyboard may not come with a trackpad. As far as the battery is concerned, tipsters have claimed that the Mi Pad 5 and Mi Pad 5 Pro will sport massive 8750mAh batteries with support for 67W fast charging. The third one, which could be the Mi Pad 5 Lite, may sport a 33W fast charging, but the battery capacity of the device has not been tipped.
