WhatsApp Status updates: New Undo button coming for emergencies? - HT Tech

WhatsApp is working on adding a number of new features to its platform. Recently we got to know that the Facebook-owned messaging app is working on Undo and Redo buttons for editing images being shared on its platform. Now, word is that the company is working on a similar button for the WhatsApp Status updates.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, that is indeed the case, and that WhatsApp is actually working on an Undo button for Status updates. To recall, WhatsApp’s Status updates are like Instagram Stories. They vanish automatically after 24 hours. Now, the popular messaging app is working on a feature that will help its users quickly delete a Status update that may have been posted accidentally.

The screenshot of the WhatsApp feature shared by the publication shows that the ‘Undo’ button will appear on the opposite side of the ‘Status Sent’ button and hence it will be quickly accessible to the users who might have shared a Status update accidentally or shared a Status update without proper editing. On top of the Undo button, users will get the usual Camera and Edit buttons for making changes to the Status before sharing.

It is worth noting that WhatsApp already gives users an option to delete their Status updates. However, the new Undo button speeds up this process by making users access the Undo button faster. The blog site says that “when you delete/undo a status update, you can even follow the deletion process now: when completed, WhatsApp will inform you that you deleted your status update.”

WhatsApp’s Undo button for Status updates is available as a part of WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.21.22.6. However, specific beta testers may get access to this feature in WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.21.22.5.

Interestingly, the update comes a day after WhatsApp rolled out Payment Stickers for WhatsApp Payments users in India. For this purpose, WhatsApp has partnered with five Indian designers and Illustrators to convey various meanings of money transfer in Indian culture. The list includes sticker packs called Pyaar aur Payments, Pay OK Please, Pay Aadha or Zyaada, Sabse Bada Rupaiya, and Apna Sapna Money among others.

Adblock test (Why?)
