WhatsApp rolls out new design; disappearing messages gets these new options - Times of India

WhatsApp has been rolling out new features continuously through beta updates for quite a while now and with the latest beta version, the platform has reportedly added new options to its existing features. As per a report on WABetaInfo, the new beta update brings in a new user interface (UI) for the contact information section. The design change was already visible to a few beta users with the previous update. The report also mentions that with the new beta version, a few users may also receive the activation of the new interface for Group Info.
Facebook-owned messaging platform, WhatsApp introduced the disappearing messages feature last year. The feature allows users to send messages that disappear after a certain period of time. With the beta update, the company has added 90 days and 24 hours options for the feature. Till now, the disappearing messages are automatically removed after 7 days.
Earlier this week, the platform added multi-device feature for all beta users. The feature allows users to access the platform on multiple devices even if there is no connectivity on the main smartphone. Users can link a single WhatsApp account with up to four more devices. With the latest beta version, the app no longer sends alerts about security code changes every time a new device is linked.
The messaging platform is also reportedly working on a Community feature and it looks like the feature will be linked to the Groups. As per a previous report by WABetaInfo, the feature will provide more control to the Group administrators. The feature is expected to provide the option to create Groups within Groups. The feature will be quite similar to how multiple channels are arranged under an umbrella Discord community. The report further states that the Sub-Groups also appear to be end-to-end encrypted.

Adblock test (Why?)
