WhatsApp announced on Wednesday that it will roll out some improvements to voice messages over the coming weeks, including the ability to listen to a message while reading other chats and play messages at 1.5 or 2 times speed (yes, please, put this feature everywhere).
The experience of recording messages is also improving. WhatsApp now lets you pause and resume your recording, so you don’t have to leave large gaps of silence if you’re thinking of what to say next or redo a recording if you need to have a brief conversation in real life. You’ll also be able to listen to a message before you send it to make sure you didn’t accidentally get cut off or include something you didn’t want to.
There’s also a slight aesthetic improvement. Instead of just using a line to show your voice message playback progress, WhatsApp will now use a waveform of the actual message. Plus, WhatsApp can remember where you were when you paused playback and let you start playing back from that point again so you don’t have to re-listen to an entire message.
These improvements will likely get a lot of use — WhatsApp says that users send an average of 7 billion voice chats a day. While some similar features were already available in other apps (Telegram, for example, has let you listen to messages outside chats for a while), it’s definitely nice to see WhatsApp’s version getting some attention.
Samsung’s line of foldable display smartphones picked by ‘Galaxy Z’ branding back in 2020 with the launch of the Galaxy Z Flip smartphone. But now, word is that Samsung is backing away from it in some parts of Europe. Also Read - Samsung launches new 2022 Neo QLED 8K smart TVs: Check features
The company has reportedly dropped ‘Z’ branding from its line of foldable devices in some countries in Europe. The change is visible in Lithuania, Estonia and Latvia. In all other markets, the company had retained the ‘Z’ branding in its Galaxy Z Fold3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 smartphones. Z Fold/Flip3 are being sold as just Galaxy Fold3/Flip3.
Change could be due to symbol ‘Z’ representing Russian Army during the ongoing invasion in Ukraine. New retail boxes have been printed as well. pic.twitter.com/RvadGYN0Xi
Ishan Agarwal was one of the first ones to notice the change. “Samsung has removed the ‘Z’ from its phones in certain European countries…New retail boxes have been printed as well,” Agarwal wrote highlighting the fact that change had also permeated in the retail boxes of these devices in the mentioned countries.
While Samsung hasn’t explained as to why it has made this change, Agarwal says dropping the ‘Z’ branding could be a result of the ongoing geopolitical situation in Ukraine. “Change could be due to symbol ‘Z’ representing Russian Army during the ongoing invasion in Ukraine,” the tipster wrote in his tweet.
For those of you who haven’t been keeping up with updates regarding the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict, the letter ‘Z’ has been widely used by the Russian army since it invaded Ukraine. NPR reports that Billboards featuring the letter have appeared in several Russian cities. State-owned RT is also selling T-shirts with the letter printed on it on its website. In addition to that, the letter Z has also been spotted on Russian army tanks invading Ukraine.
It is worth noting that the relevance of the origins of the letter Z for the Russians remain unknown. While some suggest that the letter stands for “zapad,” which means west in Russian, others suggest that the letter stands for “zhopa”, which means ass. NPR says the letter doesn’t exist in the scripts used in Russia and Ukraine.
Oppo launched the F19 lineup last March, and the company will follow it up with the F21 Pro series next month - on April 12.
This announcement comes from Oppo's Indian branch, which said that the F21 Pro series will be introduced in India on April 12 at 5PM local time. The lineup includes the F21 Pro 4G and F21 Pro 5G, but it's unclear if these will be joined by a Pro+ model since there's no mention of it yet.
The press note sent by Oppo revealed that the F21 Pro 4G and 5G will come in Sunset Orange and Rainbow Spectrum colors, respectively. But there will also be a Cosmic Black shade common for both.
Oppo says that the Rainbow Spectrum version of the 5G variant uses a three-layer texture and a two-layer coating manufacturing process to achieve the dazzling rainbow appearance, while the 4G variant's Sunset Orange version flaunts a Fiberglass-Leather design on its back that "doubles as a frameless battery cover to make the phone thin, light and durable."
Oppo tells us that it used the lychee-grain leather for the base material on Sunset Orange because it is waterproof, wear-resistant, and has a plush feel.
While Oppo doesn't explicitly mention if the F21 Pro 5G will also have a leather design version, a promo page set up on Amazon.in reveals that this design will be exclusive to the F21 Pro 4G.
Oppo hasn't divulged the specs of either of these phones yet, but the images of the F21 Pro 4G shared by the company reveal the smartphone's triple camera system on the back will be headlined by a 64MP unit. One of these cameras will also have Orbit Light around them to alert users of incoming calls, new notifications, and more.
These pictures suggest that the F21 Pro 4G could be a rebranded Reno7 4G announced yesterday. And if that's true, it will come with the Snapdragon 680 SoC, 6.43" 90Hz FullHD+ AMOLED screen, Android 11-based ColorOS 12.1, in-display fingerprint reader, and a 4,500 mAh battery with 33W charging.
There will be a 32MP selfie shooter on the front, with the 64MP primary camera on the rear joined by 2MP microscope and 2MP depth units.

Realme will soon launch another smart TV Stick to compete with the likes of the Mi TV Stick and FireTV Stick in India. The new Realme Smart TV Stick has been spotted on Flipkart, and as per the listing, will launch in India on April 7 along with the Realme GT 2 Pro. Here are the details.
New Realme Smart TV Stick India Launch on April 7
The Flipkart listing shows a Realme streaming dongle similar to the first Realme Smart TV Stick, which was launched last year and is already available in India. However, there are a number of differences.
To start with, the new Realme Smart TV Stick will come with support for a Full HD screen resolution instead of 4K support. Hence, we can expect the device to be a toned-downed variant of the first Realme Smart TV Stick and expect it to be priced lower than its elder sibling.
Another difference is that the new model will run Android TV 11, which has Google TV support. The new dongle will also offer users access to multiple OTT platforms and the Google Play Store. It is also confirmed to pack 1GB of RAM, a quad-core ARM Cortex A35 processor, and 8GB of storage. To recall, the existing Realme Smart TV Stick comes with 2GB of RAM and a dual-core GPU. The CPU and storage configurations are the same.
It is also confirmed to support HDMI 2.0, which is a lower standard than HDMI 2.1 on the Realme Smart TV Stick. Although, it will continue to have HDR10+ support.
As for the price, there’s no word on this but we can expect it to be under Rs 3,000, given that the 4K-supported Realme Smart TV Stick retails at Rs 3,999.
To reiterate, the Realme GT 2 Pro, which is the company’s latest flagship will launch on the same day, as confirmed earlier. The GT 2 Pro comes with a bio-polymer chassis, has a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, comes with a number of attractive camera features, and more. To know about the phone’s price in India and details on the new Realme Smart TV Stick, stay tuned to this space for all the updates.

Apple Inc. looks set to snap its longest win streak this year after a report that the iPhone maker is cutting production of its entry-level smartphone by a fifth amid lower demand for consumer electronics.
After nine straight sessions of gains, the stock fell as much as 1.6% Monday, moving it further away from fully erasing its year-to-date drop. As of Friday's close, the stock was down just 1.6% in 2022.
The Cupertino, California-based company plans to reduce output of iPhone SEs by about 20% next quarter compared with its original plan because of signs that consumer-electronics demand is being hurt by the war in Ukraine and rising inflation, Nikkei reported, citing unidentified people. The company told multiple suppliers it was lowering production orders by 2 million to 3 million units for the quarter, according to the report.
Apple this month updated its iPhone SE line for the first time since 2020 and added 5G network support, possibly in an effort to persuade consumers with older iPhones to upgrade and lure Android users.
The company also cut orders for its AirPod earphones by more than 10 million units for 2022, according to the Nikkei report. Since their 2016 launch, AirPods have become the most widely sold truly wireless earphones, helping Apple grab more than 25% global market share, according to research firm Counterpoint.
Shares of some Apple suppliers also fell, with Qorvo Inc. down 3.3% and Varta AG declining 6.5% after the Nikkei report.
While the hardware segment has been the company's mainstay for years, Apple has been aggressively building out its services business with subscription for games, music and video streaming.
On Sunday night, Apple bagged Best Picture Oscar for "CODA," becoming the first streaming service to win Hollywood's top award, beating out streaming pioneer Netflix Inc.
Wedbush analysts wrote that this (award) "should significantly bolster its subscriber base while attracting more A+ Hollywood talent to its platform for future projects."

Recently, Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), under the IT ministry, issued a high severity warning for Google Chrome browser users. The warning is for the users who are using browser’s version prior to 99.0.4844.84. As per the warning, a vulnerability has been reported in Google Chrome which could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the targeted system.
The advisory further reveals that “this vulnerability exists in Google Chrome due to a type confusion error within the V8 JavaScript engine component. A remote attacker could exploit this vulnerability by sending a specially crafted webpage, trigger type confusion error and execute arbitrary code on the targeted system. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could allow a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code and take control of the targeted system.”
To avoid any exploitation through the zero-day bug, the CERT-In wants Google Chrome users to update to version 99.0.4844.84. What is a zero-day vulnerability
A zero-day vulnerability is a type of computer-software vulnerability that has been disclosed but still not patched. This makes it easy for hackers to exploit. While we are just a few days away from the official launch of the Poco X4 Pro 5G, the brand has been teasing several features of the upcoming X series smartphone. Now, the brand has almost confirmed that the Poco X4 Pro 5G will support 67W Sonic charging technology, similar to the recently launched Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G.
The brand claims that the Poco X4 Pro 5G's 67W Sonic charge can refill 50 percent of the battery in just 15 minutes. Again, the charging speed of the Poco X4 Pro 5G is expected to be identical to the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G. And the Poco X4 Pro 5G is also likely to come with a 5,000 mAh battery and should last at least for a day even for heavy users.
This information confirms the fact that the Poco X4 Pro 5G is indeed a reworked variant of the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G with a different primary camera. The only difference between the Poco X4 Pro 5G and the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G seems to be the camera. While the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G has a 108MP primary camera, the Poco X4 Pro 5G has a 64MP primary camera.
The Poco X4 Pro 5G will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC with up to 8GB of RAM along with support for virtual RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The smartphone is expected to launch with Android 11 OS with custom MIUI 13 skin on top with Poco launcher with options like app tray and more.
Poco X4 Pro 5G Expected Price
The Poco X4 Pro 5G, despite being similar to the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G is likely to cost less. Given the base model of the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G starts at Rs. 20,999, the Poco X4 Pro 5G's base variant is expected to cost less than Rs. 20,000, and the pricing of the Poco X4 Pro 5G is similar to the Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G variant.
If you want a smartphone that is as good as the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ 5G with a slight downgrade on the camera, then the Poco X4 Pro 5G might be the right fit. The Poco X4 Pro 5G will launch on March 28, 2022, and we should get all the details regarding the same.

The OnePlus 10 Pro packs specs that are far more advanced than what the original OnePlus One offered. This highlights quite a monumental leap in progress for the brand, after close to a decade of never settling for anything less than top-grade hardware. The company's very first flagship phone, the OnePlus One, was launched back in 2014 and turned heads with its attractive entry-level price and unique Sandstone finish.
Starting at just $300, the OnePlus One offered a lot more than most flagship phones at the time, and for a lot less too. This included a larger screen, arguably better cameras, and a greeter battery capacity than the likes of competitors like the iPhone 6 or Samsung Galaxy S5. Sold at half the asking price of these phones, the OnePlus One was a self-proclaimed “flagship killer”. While OnePlus phones are no longer priced as cheaply as they used to be, the OnePlus 10 Pro still aims to deliver the highest standards in terms of hardware, which as per the brand, can continue performing at its peak for years to come.
Just how much has the OnePlus flagship lineup improved over the past eight years? Well, the OnePlus 10 Pro features a huge 6.7-inch Quad HD+ 120Hz display, up to 12GB of RAM, up to 256GB of storage, and is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. Its rear camera setup comprises 48-megapixel, 50-megapixel, and 8-megapixel sensors, and there's a 32-megapixel shooter in the front. The phone features a hefty 5,000 mAh battery. The OnePlus One's specs, on the other hand, included a 5.5-inch Full HD display, 3GB of RAM, up to 64GB of storage, and the Snapdragon 801 processor. It had a single 13MP Sony Exmor camera, a 5MP selfie camera, and an average-sized 3,000 mAh battery.
OnePlus 10 Pro Vs. OnePlus One: Biggest Changes
While the specifications have naturally progressed with advancements in technology, one of the biggest changes seen on recent OnePlus flagships is the brand's partnership with Hasselblad, the iconic Swedish camera brand that NASA used for its space missions. Another change is in the battery department, with the OnePlus 10 Pro not only featuring a beefier cell, but also ridiculously fast 80W USB-C charging, capable of topping it up from 0 to 100% in about 30 minutes. The phone also features 50W wireless charging, among the fastest in the world. Technology like this simply didn't exist back then.
When it comes to performance, the OnePlus 10 Pro's Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor is eight generations ahead of the OnePlus One's chip, and in terms of performance upgrades, a whole lot has improved since then. The software on OnePlus phones has also evolved over the years. While the OnePlus One shipped with Cyanogen OS at launch, a forked version of Android, it later shifted to the OnePlus proprietary OxygenOS. The OnePlus 10 Pro still ships with OxygenOS, but after the merger with OPPO, the software is now based on ColorOS. Another big change has been OnePlus' sales strategy. The OnePlus One was sold via an exclusive invite system, while OnePlus now sells its phones online and in stores globally. However, all the upgrades that the OnePlus 10 Pro offers come at a cost. The reliable headphone jack seen on the OnePlus One has been removed, and the OnePlus 10 Pro price is nowhere close to the brand's original "flagship killer" persona.
