In effect, that means, while the iPhone 15 and the iPhones to follow in later years, will get a new chip and other technological upgrades, the cheaper, non-Pro models will get older chips. While we already have heard that Pro-models of Apple’s upcoming iPhone 14 line up will come up with upgraded chipset, popular analyst and Apple oracle Ming-Chi Kuo has once again backed the same. He shared that only the iPhone 14 Pro models will get an upgraded chipset, while the standard iPhone 14 models will arrive with the current A 15 Bionic chip.But the interesting thing is Kuo claims Apple has boosted the shipment proportion of Pro models to 60% which earlier used to be 40%.

Kuo wrote in Medium, “The latest A16 processor will be exclusive to two iPhone 14 Pro/high-end models, significantly boosting the shipment proportion of new iPhone high-end models in 2H22 to 55-60% (vs. 40–50% in the past).”

This means Apple plans to sell more of the premium iPhone 14 models than standard ones, despite their high price. The tech giant is expected to put more effort on making and marketing the iPhone 14 Pro with the non-pro models likely becoming a secondary promotional priority.

Given the fact that the iPhone 14 is expected to retain the similar A15 chipset as well as much of the designs of iPhone 13, it won’t be that much exciting. However, iPhone 14 Max, the new model that is speculated to replace the iPhone mini variant is also grabbing the headlines. The new variant is expected to offer a bigger display - 6.7-inch that too under $1,000.

Apart from the upgraded chipset, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are also tipped to have an updated display with punch-hole and pill-shaped Face ID and selfie camera cutouts , a new 48MP main camera, and an always-on display.
