WhatsApp emoji reactions upgraded! Not just 6, react with many more now - HT Tech

WhatsApp has finally brought more emojis to react to messages in a group or individual chat.

WhatsApp has finally rolled out a whole new bunch of emojis to react to messages in an individual or group chat. The new feature is an expansion of WhatsApp reactions that were introduced a few weeks back. Now WhatsApp users can react to a message with any emoji and skin tone. The new development has been announced by Meta’s Mark Zukerberg via a Facebook post. He shared, “We're rolling out the ability to use any emoji as a reaction on WhatsApp.”

To use more emojis, WhatsApp users need to have an updated app version and that is exactly what they should do now. The feature is rolling out for all. WhatsApp users can find more emoji reactions simply by reacting to a message. They’ll see a plus icon placed at the reaction tray that will unlock more emojis at the bottom on being clicked. Earlier, WhatsApp users were given only six emoji reactions to a message- including ‘surprise’, ‘laughing’, ‘sad’, ‘cry’, ‘red heart’, and ‘pray.’ However, now with new emojis rolling out, users can even look for a more relevant emoji instead of just five existing options by typing in a dedicated search bar. Additionally, WhatsApp also allows users to adjust the skin tone of the emoji. If you haven’t got the new emoji reactions on your WhatsApp yet, don’t worry it will arrive to you shortly. Meanwhile, WhatsApp is reportedly working on another big upgrade that would allow users to sync their chat history between multiple devices. The feature dubbed as the ‘ companion mode‘ will let users link a secondary mobile device to their WhatsApp account. As of now the multiple device support feature is limited to desktop/laptop or tablets. Users can’t operate a WhatsApp account on two mobile phones at a time. However, if this feature is rolled out, the same would be available on mobile phones as well. The feature is currently under development and the exact rollout details of the feature are kept under wraps, for now.
