However, now it seems that the Cupertino-based tech giant is planning to bring some major design changes to its forthcoming iPhone 15 series which is slated for 2023. According to latest reports, Apple is planning to ditch the clickable volume and power buttons on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models. The buttons will be replaced with solid-state buttons similar to those spotted on the recently-launched Apple Watch Series 8.
The development came to light after noted Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo took to his Twitter account. Kuo in his tweet said that volume and power buttons on the high-end iPhone models will have a solid-state button, something similar to the home button on iPhone 7/8/SE. The new buttons will essentially replace the physical/mechanical buttons.
“My latest survey indicates that the volume button and power button of two high-end iPhone 15/2H23 new iPhone models may adopt a solid-state button design (similar to the home button design of iPhone 7/8/SE2 & 3) to replace the physical/mechanical button design,” Kuo said in his tweet.
