Samsung just might be the sole supplier of OLED panels for the upcoming Apple iPads IT Voice | Online IT Media | IT Magazine - IT Voice

According to MacRumors, which cites Ross Young, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants, Apple is apparently working on two new iPad Pro tablets, an 11.1-inch model and a 13-inch one, both of which might be released in 2024. (DSCC). It is safe to infer that Samsung Display will be the only provider of OLED panels for both the next iPad Pro versions based on Apple’s past performance.

Since the business began employing OLEDs in its products with the introduction of the first-generation Apple Watch, Apple has been buying OLED panels from Samsung Display. Apple collaborated with other producers to obtain OLED displays, but things didn’t go as planned.

For OLED panels, the Cupertino-based tech titan has therefore always turned to Samsung, notably for its flagship devices. In actuality, 70% of the OLED panels for all of the iPhone 14 variants come from Samsung.

We don’t see any reason why Samsung Display won’t be the exclusive provider of OLED panels for the upcoming iPad Pro models since it has been Apple’s dependable OLED panel supplier for so many years. As a result, Samsung Display will soon need to increase OLED panel output to fulfil Apple’s anticipated OLED panel requirements. After all, Apple iPads are widely distributed and sold. The South Korean company has lately begun creating two-stack tandem OLED displays for upcoming iPads.

Samsung has been expanding its business despite being the world’s largest provider of OLED panels. The business just began producing OLED panels for TVs and monitors as well. Many TV experts from across the world have commended the company’s QD-OLED for its performance in the Samsung S95B TV. At IFA 2022, the business also displayed an OLED monitor.
