Motorola has announced its latest flagship smartphone – Edge 40 Pro – for the global markets. A rebadged Moto X40, the Motorola Edge 40 Pro comes with the same hardware – 165Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, 50MP triple camera – but ditches the heavily customisable skin meant for the Chinese market. As of now, Motorola Edge 40 Pro is only launching in Europe for €899.99 (around Rs 81,000). We expect the smartphone to launch in India in the coming months.

Motorola Edge 40 Pro features a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 1080P resolution and a refresh rate of 165Hz. The display has 2.5D curved sides and comes with Gorilla Glass Victus protection. Beneath the display, there is an under-display fingerprint sensor. Inside the centred punch hole cutout, there is a 60MP camera for selfies.
The Edge 40 Pro measures 8.6mm thick and weighs under 200 grams. Further, the smartphone comes with an IP68 rating for protection against water and dust.
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset powers the smartphone. The Edge 40 Pro comes with 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.0 storage. There is no option for storage expansion, but the SIM card tray can hold two cards.
The Edge 40 Pro boasts a 4,600mAh battery and comes with a 125W fast charger, which promises to charge the smartphone from 0 to 100 per cent in 20 minutes. Further, the smartphone supports wireless charging at 15W and 5W reverse wireless charging.
Motorola Edge 40 Pro houses a triple camera setup. There are two 50MP cameras – primary with OIS and 117-degree ultrawide with autofocus. Then there is a third 12MP telephoto camera with 2x zoom.
