Samsung Galaxy Phones Gets New Security Tool To Protect Devices From Potential Threats; How It Works - Jagran English

Samsung has unveiled Auto Blocker, a new security tool for Samsung Galaxy users, with an aim to enhance the mobile security and offering users greater control over their device's protection. Auto Blocker is an opt-in feature available on Android 14-based One UI 6, offering additional security measures to safeguard user data.

What Is Auto Blocker?

One of the security features of Auto Blocker is the ability to activate app security checks to detect potential viruses and prevent the installation of malicious software using USB ports. This feature adds an extra layer of security when charging a user's device in public or in any situation where it could be physically accessed.

How It Works:

The business intends to provide consumers of Galaxy smartphones greater control and to improve the entire experience in the ecosystem of Samsung Galaxy devices.

One of the new tool's primary purposes is to prevent sideloading, or the technique of installing software from unapproved sources. Although sideloading provides users with more flexibility and customization choices, it also exposes them to security threats.

Users can tailor the Auto Blocker feature to their preferences, providing an added layer of protection against social engineering schemes such as voice phishing.

Meanwhile, the company has also added a new version of Message Guard. It is now included with Auto Blocker to help prevent Zero Click attacks, which are direct picture messages that hide dangerous code. It was first released for popular third-party messaging apps from Google and Samsung, but it is now expanding its safety to include more secure app options for users.
